Mixed-tee competitions were handicapped as prescribed in Section 3-5 of the old USGA Handicap Manual by adding to a player's tee-specific Course Handicap the rounded difference in course ratings between the tees-played and the basis-tees—where the majority of the field plays. We called this difference the mixed-tee-adjustment, and was +2 strokes for the White-tees. We monitored the cumulative average net scores in our tournaments to compare their difference with the mixed-tee adjustment. Since we use Local Handicaps the difference in the average net scores is guaranteed to match the mixed-tee adjustment when each player's Local Handicap Index becomes monochromatic, i.e., when the low differentials in the scoring record are derived from the same tee-set.

The table below shows the tournament scoring history since we have been playing Yellow-White mixed-tee competitions with the present course configuration (2011-01-19) through 2019. The cumulative averages of the number of rounds, Local Course Handicap (LCH), gross score and net score are shown for the default Yellow-tees and the White-tees.

The last column shows the difference (W - Y Diff.) in the net scores which is a measure of the scoring "imbalance" due to: (a) imperfect relative course ratings and (b) a membership which does not match the universe of golfers for which the course rating system was designed.

The difference in net scores for the first few events represents the degree of mismatch between the course ratings and our playing ability. Differences are highlighted in red when they differ from the mixed-tee-adjustment by more than ½ stroke.
